Our sleeve enables hose assemblies to meet AS1072 when correctly installed in conjunction with approved components. The High-grade silicone outer is a unique compound which sheds splashes of molten metals, and forms a protective 'crust' when exposed to flame. This allows the sleeve to withstand short term flame immersion. The braided, high-bulk fibreglass inner insulates protected lines from conducted heat; together the two components will provide protection from continuous heat of up to 260°C, and molten splash up to 1200°C. In addition, it also offers increased protection for lines from abrasion and mechanical damage, reduces heat loss from hoses to maximise efficiency of engine-driven machinery and production lines, and protects lines from sparks and the short term flame immersion common in many manufacturing and maintenance industries. Thermaguard's™ fire sleeve also helps protect staff in the event of a 'pinhole leak' by restraining high pressure spray, and reduces the possibility of damage to other components in the event of a ruptured line.
